Celebrating 40 years, hardcore punks Fear visited Baltimore Soundstage to rock irreverently in your face. Jason Nicholson got their faces on film.

Fear frontman Lee Ving regrouped with original members Phil Cramer (guitar) and Spit Stix (drums), both of whom were in Fear from 1978-93. The revitalized group also includes new members Geoff Kresge (bass) and Eric Razo (guitar).

The band’s 15-song setlist drew heavily from debut album, The Record, released in 1982. Fear blasted into the show with “Fuck You Let’s Rodeo” and soon played popular “Let’s Have a War.”

Before the end of the set, Fear covered “We’ve Gotta Get Out of This Place” by The Animals. When they returned for an encore, the band performed “More Beer,” the title track of their 1985 second album.
