In June, Florence and the Machine released High as Hope, the band’s fourth studio album, via by Republic Records and Virgin EMI Records. Florence and the Machine scheduled a show for The Anthem, which promptly sold out! But tickets are still available for a second night, Saturday, Oct. 6.

Vocalist Florence Welch and company had a busy summer! Florence and the Machine released a Spotify Singles Session, covering Tory Amos’ “Cornflake Girl,” and Florence became the first woman ever to headline the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco in August. Now, she’s racing toward The Anthem to dominate DC for two evenings.

In a review for Paste, Madison Desler embraced the “life affirming” “personal reckoning” of the new album.

“A new level of vulnerability from Florence Welch and deft, atmospheric production from Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey) makes High As Hope another album of cathedral-filling, mountain-moving sound, with Welch’s vocals the main source of power,” Madison said.
