Boston funk band Lettuce released a live album, Witches Stew, in 2017, and the sextet are arriving to play live at The Anthem on Saturday, Nov. 3, along with special guests Waka Flocka Flame and Marcus King (and opener Turkuaz)!

As jazz aficionados might have guessed, Witches Stew is a tribute to Miles Davis. The record reimagines seven Miles Davis songs in a live recording from the Catskill Chill festival in Lakewood, Pennsylvania. The album is a full recreation of Mile Davis’ record In a Silent Way.

In a review of the project for All About Jazz, Doug Collette praises the inventiveness of Lettuce.

Lettuce “refuses to restrict itself unnecessarily as it continues to hone their own brand of jazz-inflected funk,” Doug wrote. “And while A Tribute to Miles Davis hardly represents the cultural paradigm shift represented by the groundbreaking release, the effort allows Lettuce to do justice to their influences, while still retaining their own collective persona.”
