In the new era of at home performances and live streams with lower production, Warner Music Group has decided to go the opposite direction, with PlayOn Fest, a first-of-its-kind, virtual music festival, full of high-quality broadcasts of past performances from some of music’s biggest acts, including Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Cardi B., Weezer, Flaming Lips, Andra Day, Janelle Monae, Bruno Mars, Lizzo, Gary Clark Jr., Brandi Carlile, Panic! at the Disco, Green Day, Slipknot, and many more.

Watch PlayOn Fest streamed on the Songkick YouTube channel for three days beginning at noon on Friday, April 24.

With performances from artists across all genres of music, the three-day virtual festival has something for every music fan. LL Cool J will kick off PlayOn Fest at 12 pm on Friday, exclusively on Songkick’s YouTube channel. The music festival will run for 72 hours and feature many of music’s biggest bands and artists from various festivals.

The performances span across some of the biggest stages in the world, including Lollapalooza, Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Rock in Rio. Highlights of the festival include late rapper Nipsey Hussle’s performance for his Victory Lap album release from the Hollywood Palladium, and Korn performing inside of a living art instillation.

PlayOn Fest is supporting the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization. Fans are being encouraged to donate, with the proceeds going to support the World Health Organization’s work to track and understand the spread of the virus; to ensure patients get the care they need and front line workers get essential supplies and information; and to accelerate development of a vaccine and treatments for all who need them.

Cardi B said, “Don’t play yourself! Tune into PlayOn Fest April 24-26 and help us raise money for the World Health Organization to boost COVID-19 relief funds. Thank you to all of the healthcare workers who are dedicating their services and helping to save lives! Since I can’t get on stage right now…I’m throwing it back to my party at the Global Citizen Festival to hopefully send some love and light to y’all. Stay safe everyone!”

“During this pandemic, we are all searching for ways to stay connected,” said Elizabeth Cousens, President and CEO of the UN Foundation. “The PlayOn Fest is a great way to come together, enjoy good music and company, and support the World Health Organization’s most urgent global work to combat COVID-19.”

While there isn’t one physical location for everyone to gather and enjoy the festival, fans can still purchase t-shirts and other merch from PlayOn Fest, with all of the proceeds going to support the World Health Organization.
