The Pet Shop Boys recently released a new single, “I Don’t Wanna” from the duo’s critically acclaimed LP Hotspot, out now via x2 Records/ Kobalt.

“We’ve written much of our music over the last ten years in Berlin and it was an exciting experience to work on this album in the legendary Hansa studios there and add a new dimension to our sound,” Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe said of the album.

Hotspot was primarily written and recorded in Berlin and Los Angeles. The album is produced and mixed by Stuart Price, marking the third Pet Shop Boys album he has produced following Super (2016) and Electric (2013).

Rolling Stone praised Hotspot, the Pet Shop Boys’ 14th studio album, saying, “the wistful beauty, grace, and gravity of their music only gets deeper as the decades pass.”

And the Pet Shop Boys are due to tour North America, including a show at Merriweather Post Pavilion in the DC metro area on Tuesday, Sept. 15, with New Order on the joint Unity Tour. Parklife DC is eagerly watching developments to see if those tour dates hold in the face of the global coronavirus emergency.
