A dedicated little music and events blog like Parklife DC depends on the support of great partners, who are always giving us the scoop on concerts and activities.

So we at Parklife DC have launched a new page about “Our Partners” to give thanks to those institutions that help us out.

Thanks to our great partnership with 9:30 Club, for example, Parklife DC gives away a pair of tix to see a show produced by I.M.P. every Wednesday morning at 9am. Simply visit our blog at that time, check out the band of the week, and enter to win!

We have established an initial list of partners to thank and recognize them on our page at https://parklifedc.com/our-partners/.

If you’re a Parklife DC partner not yet listed, fear not! We will grow this list in due time.

If you’re not yet a Parklife DC partner and you would like to be, feel free to reach out to us at parklifedc@gmail.com and let’s work together on something! Then, we will toast our partnership on Our Partners page.

Thanks to our initial partners, as listed on our new page.

Music venues

9:30 Club: Consistently named one of the best clubs in the United States, 9:30 Club is a general-admission venue with a capacity of about 1,100.

Black Cat: The best indie rock bar for both aging punks and young hipsters alike, Black Cat always lands on its feet with a mainstage capacity of about 700 (and a backstage capacity of about 200).

DC9 Nightclub: The coolest little spot at the hottest intersection in the city, DC9 is where every act that’s blowing up first comes to DC. It also has amazing food, focused on burgers and Southern cuisine, and it holds about 200 folks on its stage level.

The Howard Theatre: The smoothest concert hall for soul and R&B acts, and more than its share of indie rockers as well, the historic Howard Theatre is a cozy place to see some big names. It holds 1,242 people.

U Street Music Hall: A subterranean dream of a club for DJs, founded by DJs. With a capacity of about 500, U Street Music Hall is often pulling double duty with early evening concerts and late night raves.

Bars

Dodge City: Located on trendy U Street, steps away from both 9:30 Club and DC9, Dodge City has an upscale vibe with dive bar sensibilities. It’s got the best tap selection of beer in North Shaw, and it hosts our own little New Wave listening party on the second Thursday of every month.

Music labels

Armada Music: Our friends in The Netherlands produce the greatest EDM and trance artists in the world. Founded by Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron, and David Lewis, Armada Music supports artists who habitually spin at U Street Music Hall, Echostage, Soundcheck, 9:30 Club, and more.
