Lindey Jordan returned to Baltimore with her band Snail Mail to play a sold-out show as the headlining act at the Ottobar Wednesday. Despite a March snowstorm that came through the area earlier in the day, the Ottobar was packed with fans who braved the weather to enjoy the show!
Snail Mail performed songs off their EP Habit, even joking with the crowd about how they would know every word to “Thinning” — which they did, as the entire club sang along. Snail Mail also performed a new single, “Pristine,” from their upcoming full length album, Lush, to be released June 8 via Matador Records.

Baltimore duo Romanic States, consisting of Jim Triplett and Ilenia Madelaire, kicked off the show delivering a beautiful performance filled with dark and moody songs marked by a simplistic drum beat. Following their set, London post-punks Shame took the stage, delivering a very energetic performance. Hailing from Britain, this was the band’s only second U.S. tour, and they definitely made an impression on the audience!
Despite winter weather, I am sure everyone left the club thankful that they made the effort to get out and see this show! If you missed Snail Mail on Wednesday, be sure to catch them June 12 at the Black Cat! (Buy your tickets online.)
