Honest Lee Soul and the Michael McHenry Tribe teamed for a strong night of good music recently at Rams Head on Stage in Annapolis. Steve Satzberg was there to shoot the show.

Cullen DeChant and Rahsaan “Wordslave” Eldridge formed Honest Lee Soul in 2017 in Annapolis, and they are enjoying success playing throughout the DMV area. With roots in soul, blues, funk, hip-hop, gospel, and rock, they are ever-expanding their sound and reach. They released their self-titled project as Brother’s Keeper in 2018, and they released their follow-up One Life in 2022.

In addition to an eclectic sound, HLS is a versatile ensemble capable of performing as a duo for more intimate settings, or bringing a full band experience.

Psychedelic soul band Michael McHenry Tribe play regularly around Baltimore and Annapolis. Piercing your ear lobes with psychedelic prowess and rattling your bones via funkadelic quakes of blues, r&b, rock, roll, tootie, this, that, and fruity — you name it, The Michael McHenry Tribe will exude it.

At Rams Head on Stage on May 13, members of both bands joined each other on stage. And in the photos, you’ll spot Andy Hall, who joined Michael McHenry Tribe to rap during one song.
