Project HERA — a DC-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting and empowering women in music — hosted the second annual Lilith Fest at The Atlantis on Dec. 21.
Parklife DC sent Steve Satzberg along to photograph the artists in performance!
Lilith Fest featured 27 female artists performing tributes (one song each) to dozens of acts that played the original Lilith Fair Music Festivals from 1997-1999, including The Chicks, Sheryl Crowe, Tracy Chapman, and Alanis Morissette.
WTOP’s Neal Augenstein chatted to Project HERA founder Cathy DiToro about the inspiration for Lilith Fest in a short video on YouTube.
A portion of ticket sale proceeds benefitted Girls Rock! DC, which provides music education and performance opportunities to young people in the DMV.
