Marc Broussard has long been hailed for his stunning, rugged, old-school vocals and his incomparable “Bayou Soul” — a gritty mix of blues, soul, funk, R&B, and rock that offers a singular sound deeply rooted in Louisiana, giving him a style that is uniquely his own.
Time Is a Thief presents a heartfelt collection of 10 new songs, showcasing the celebrated Louisiana singer/songwriter with gritty, rootsy hooks and infectious grooves conveyed through his fervent vocals. Marc performed four of the new songs at Rams Head on Stage on July 14, mixing it up with old favorites and some popular cover tunes.
Early in the show, Broussard presented the bold and brassy “Fire.”

Produced by Grammy-winning artist Eric Krasno and Grammy-nominated producer/guitarist Jeremy Most, this album exudes a funky, soulful sound, featuring diverse sonic layers that set it apart from Broussard’s previous works. In a recent interview with Louisiana’s The Advocate, Broussard noted, “In my career, you’ve got flashes of me in every project, but this one, from top to bottom, is fully me.”
Broussard credits Krasno, who wrote or co-wrote seven of the 10 album tracks, for giving the album a sense of continuity. Broussard said, “I’ve never been one to pigeonhole myself, so my writing tends to wander in different directions. Krasno is more deliberate, and his writing feels like a natural extension from one to another. It’s the first time in my career that I’ve made an album with a well-defined character that is easily identifiable upon first listen.”
New York City’s Jamie McLean opened the show! Keep scrolling for photos of Jamie in action.
