The Filter performance on Sept. 10 at Jiffy Lube Live kicked off the evening as part of the Freaks on Parade 2024 Tour, opening for Ministry, Alice Cooper, and Rob Zombie. Filter’s set, although relatively brief at 35 minutes, packed in fan favorites. One standout track was “(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do,” which ignited the crowd with its iconic fusion of industrial beats and alternative rock.
Radio singles “Take a Picture” and “Hey Man, Nice Shot” (about the live, on air suicide of politician R. Budd Dwyer during a TV press conference) ironically had their fans dancing in the aisles.

The band’s tight performance and frontman Richard Patrick’s intense vocals left a strong impression on both their longtime fans and new listeners.
The early evening performance was a warm-up for the night’s heavier acts, and while Filter’s set was relatively short compared to the headliners, their songs and energy filled the air as the audience began to fill up the amphitheater.
