ZZ Top recently delivered a blistering performance at Jiffy Lube Live, proving once again why they’re rock royalty. The Texas trio, known for their signature blend of blues and rock, brought their A-game to the Jiffy Lube Live stage in Bristow, Virginia, for a thoroughly enjoyable night of high-octane rock ‘n’ roll.
On Sept. 8 at Jiffy Lube Live, the concert kicked off with a thunderous rendition of “Got Me Under Pressure,” immediately setting the tone for the evening. ZZ Top appeared at Jiffy Lube on a shared bill with Lynyrd Skynyrd for The Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour.
Billy Gibbons’ guitar work was as sharp as ever, delivering the iconic riffs that have defined ZZ Top’s sound for decades. His vintage battered looking guitar, paired with his trademark beard and sunglasses, was a reminder of the band’s iconic rock ‘n’ roll style.
Elwood Francis, holding down the bass, and Frank Beard on drums were in top form, providing the solid rhythm section that has always been a cornerstone of ZZ Top’s music.
Elwood’s bass lines were as groovy as ever, driving tracks like “Pearl Necklace” and “Sharp Dressed Man” with an infectious energy that had the whole crowd dancing and singing along.

The setlist was a crowd-pleaser, blending classic hits with a few deep cuts for the die-hard fans. Songs like “Gimme All Your Lovin’” and “Legs” had the audience on their feet, and “I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide” was a highlight, showcasing ZZ Top’s signature style.
One of the evening’s most memorable moments came during the encore. After changing into new jackets, the band treated fans to a performance of “Brown Sugar,” which was one of their earliest songs from their very first album. They followed it with “Tube Snake Boogie” and the raunchy boogie blues of “La Grange.” Gibbons’ soulful guitar solos and Elwood’s backing vocals created a powerful, conclusion to an already electrifying night.
For those who were there, it was an evening of pure rock ‘n’ roll magic, and for those who missed it, you’ll have to wait for the next tour to experience it for yourself. ZZ Top’s show at Jiffy Lube Live was a rock concert for the ages — timeless, powerful, and incredibly fun.
