LA quartet Gateway Drugs will release PSA, the band’s sophomore album, in May via Aporia Records. Gateway Drugs recently gave us “Wait (Medication),” the first single off the album.
PSA was produced by Sune from The Ravonettes live at Josh Homme’s Pink Duck Studios. “Wait (Medication) is a terrific shoegaze wash of a song that might put you right back into the ’90s.
The upcoming album is raw, wild, and chaotic, much like the last five years of the band members’ lives, since they released their Dine Alone debut Magick Spells. It’s an LP that retains their characteristic shoegazy, psychedelic sound that Hellbound likened to “The Stooges meets My Bloody Valentine and the Brian Jonestown Massacre all at once — a little dark, a little eerie and a little grainy and all intoxicating.”

“Theirs is a dense, chaotic beauty: pop songs laced with ennui, menace, and scorn, guitars blazing,” said LA Buzzbands of Gateway Drugs.
