Kehlani’s Blue Water Road Trip Tour stopped through a jam-packed Anthem recently along with the DMV’s own Rico Nasty in support of her latest album Blue Water Road. The super high-energy performance from Rico immediately turned the crowd up, as they went crazy for hit records like “RAGE”, “OHFR?” and “Poppin” setting the bar before Kehlani even hit the stage.

The lights fell dark and screams filled the room as Kehlani took the stage along with her dancers and band.

Kehlani and her company smoothed things out and got the room singing early on at The Anthem on Aug. 7, performing songs from the new album — songs like “Little Story,” “More Than I Should,” and “Shooter Interlude.”

She performed the majority of the Blue Water Road album before diving backward into her catalog to pull out songs like including “Toxic,” “You Should Be Here,” and her breakout hit “Distraction.”

Check out the video for “Distraction” by Kehlani on YouTube:

While she and her guitarist sat on stage performing “Honey,” a couple up in the balcony got engaged and everyone in their section shined their phone lights on them to get Kehlani’s attention. As soon as she notice them stopped the show afraid someone was hurt, but as soon as she realized what was happening she screamed with joy and had everyone on stage and in the crowd congratulated them.

Kehlani closed out the night by performing slower jams like “everything,” “melt,” and “Nights Like This,” before bringing the energy to its peak by ending the show with a thunderous performance of “CRZY” from her 2017 album SweetSexySavage, sending the crowd home with nothing but smiles on their faces as the left the building.
