Indie pop duo Matt and Kim recently brought big energy to the small room at The Atlantis for an entry in the venue’s run of major acts headlining the opening months of the 450-capacity music venue.

Matt and Kim appeared for their date at The Atlantis in DC on Sept. 22 between two bigger shows — 9:30 Club on the previous night and Rams Head Live! in Baltimore on the following night. Matt and Kim are on tour for their current run of shows under the banner of Matt and Kim Present: The Matt and Kim Tour Featuring Matt and Kim!

Their current tour finds Matt and Kim on the road for the first time in four years. Known for their infectious, beat-driven anthems and explosive live shows, Matt and Kim brought the party to The Atlantis as they played hits and fan favorites from their back catalog.
Embarking on the tour, Matt said, “THIS TOUR IS GONNA BE SO RIDICULOUS! And we mean that in the best way possible! Been putting together every M&K song you’d want to hear and mixing in LOTS of surprises.”

Matt and Kim have have sold-out headlining tours across North America and wowed fans around the globe. They won the mtvU Woodie Award for “Best Live Performance,” have performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and stole the show at multiple festivals including Bonnaroo, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Bumbershoot, HangOut, Big Day Out, Corona Capital, Pukklepop, Primavera, and Fuji.
Matt Johnson (vocals/keyboards) and Kim Schifino (drums) formed their band in 2004. In addition to soundtrack songs, singles, and EPs, the duo have released six full-length studio albums: Matt & Kim (2006), Grand (2009), Sidewalks (2010), Lightning (2012), New Glow (2015), and Almost Everyday (2018). The current tour setlist presents a few songs from each of these albums.
