Tickets for the Rock and Roll for Children Benefit Concert make a great gift.
Headlined by legendary rock band Foghat with special guests Tusk and The Peacemakers
On March 9, 2024, legendary rock band Foghat will headline the annual Rock and Roll for Children benefit concert at The Fillmore Silver Spring. This event supports The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health, which provides a free “home away from home” for seriously ill children receiving treatment at the National Institutes of Health.
About the Rock and Roll For Children Foundation
Since 2004, the 501(c)3 all-volunteer nonprofit Rock and Roll for Children Foundation (RRFC) has been raising money for children and families dealing with significant, often life-threatening health issues.
Each year, RRFC holds a benefit concert in Silver Spring, Maryland, featuring top musicians, live/silent auctions, food, and drinks. The event is staffed by volunteers so all proceeds after basic costs go directly to The Children’s Inn. The Rock and Roll for Children Foundation’s (RRFC), signature annual concert has raised nearly $1,000,000 for children (and parents) in need.
RRFC’s sole fundraising beneficiary is The Children’s Inn at the NIH. Families travel from around the world to the NIH when conventional treatments fail to adequately help their child’s illness. The Inn gives them a free place to stay together during treatment. For kids, it’s a respite from being patients – a place to play and enjoy their families after long days of medical procedures.
Please visit the RRFC website or call 301-938-4505 for more details on the foundation.
Now back to the upcoming show…Formed in 1971, Foghat is known for electric slide guitar rock anthems like “Slow Ride” and “Fool for the City.” With eight gold albums, one platinum, and one double platinum, they remain one of the most popular classic rock bands touring today. Their show at The Fillmore Silver Spring marks Foghat’s only local appearance on their current tour.
Speaking of tour, Foghat released a new album in 2023 — Sonic Mojo — and wow does it have that great classic rock sound.
“It’s in your DNA as an artist and a musician to continue being creative. That doesn’t just stop. And our fans are very tolerant of us with the [new material]. You carry on and you play. That’s what you do,” said drummer Roger Earl of the new record.

Opening for Foghat is Tusk, known as the world’s number-one Fleetwood Mac tribute band. Local favorites The Peacemakers, a DC funk/R&B/go-go Band that originated in 1976, will also perform a set.
