English singer-songwriter Ben Howard had plenty of reason to celebrate on his recent sweep through the states. His sophomore album, I Forget Where We Were, just turned 10 years old and his latest record, Is It?, was released last month.
Howard began his trek across the continent in early July, starting in Montreal and wrapping it up last week in Denver. He sold out gigs along the way as fans packed into venues with the intention of basking in the ethereal, absorbing presentation that has helped him amass a world-wide following.
One of the most anticipated of his visits, Howard and his band sold out 9:30 Club on the night of July 21, serving up an otherworldly and meditative set of songs pulled mostly from his newest record and including its first single, “Moonraker.”
