Earlier this year, punk survivors Redd Kross released a self-titled double album via In The Red Records. The band have hit the road in support of the album, and they performed recently at The Atlantis in DC, where Ben Eisendrath photographed the show!

Redd Kross released their debut EP in 1980, and they followed it up with their first full-length album, Born Innocent, in 1982. Redd Kross remained active through 1997 before taking a break and regrouping in 2004.

Since then, Redd Kross released several very well-received albums on Merge Records — 2012’s Researching the Blues and 2019’s Beyond the Door. Now they are back with Redd Kross (or The Redd Album).

At The Atlantis on July 22, Redd Kross drew numbers from across their catalog for an invigorating 21-song setlist that somehow managed to include covers of KISS and The Osmonds in the encore.

Redd Kross is experiencing a busy year. In October, the band will be the subject of a new memoir, Now You’re One of Us, by brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald with Dan Epstein. Also this year, Director Andrew Reich will release a Redd Kross documentary, Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story.
