Iron & Wine toured Light Verse, his seventh studio album, recently at The Anthem, and Steve Satzberg was there to photograph the show.

On August 9 at The Anthem, Iron & Wine (the project of singer-songwriter Sam Beam) presented songs from across his catalog, including six from the latest record. From Light Verse (published in April by Sub Pop), Iron & Wine performed “All in Good Time” and “Anyone’s Game” early in the show and “Angels Go Home” at the midpoint. He played “Yellowjacket” and “Sweet Talk” toward the end of the set.

To cap a 21-song setlist, Iron & Wine presented a two-song encore: “Autumn Town Leaves” from Weed Garden (2018) and “Call It Dreaming” from Beast Epic (2017).

You can only see hints of it in these photos, but performance artists Manual Cinema joined the show with live shadow puppetry and handmade animations in support of visuals.
