Trust Records, launched in 2020, was formed to give classic punk and hardcore records the home that they deserve. The great records of this genre sprung from DIY roots to influence millions of disaffected kids around the world. As we now move into the “streaming age”, it’s crucial to keep their spirit and legacy alive. Trust’s focus is to ensure this music is available for all future generations while also getting the story and quality right.
Their catalog so far includes 40th Anniversary Deluxe versions of Circle Jerks’ iconic albums Group Sex, Wild in The Streets and 7Seconds’ 1984 landmark punk record, The Crew.
At The Fillmore Silver Spring on Sept. 6, Descendents favored their milestone 1982 album Milo Goes to College, and the band performed a stunning 32-song set.

Circle Jerks similarly banged through a fast-paced set, clocking at lest 22 songs in their concert performance. About half of those songs were drawn from the band’s 1980 Group Sex album. The began that show with that album’s “Back Against the Wall.”

UK post-punks Buzzcocks continue to tour after the passing of founder Pete Shelley, who died in 2018. Frontman Steve Diggle, the remaining member of the band’s classic lineup, was an engaging performer as always at The Fillmore Silver Spring, keeping the Buzzcocks banner flying high. On Sept. 6, Buzzcocks opened with their anthem “What Do I Get?” and closed with signature tune “Harmony in My Head.”

Perceived as a Brooklyn based punk band, SURFBORT is proving their cult cool translates coast to coast. SURFBORT’s live experience is visceral and confrontational. Their feedback-strafed, guitar-shredding punk music says no to a digital age full of intolerance, they radiate love and friendship.
Speaking of concert staple “FML,” lead singer Dani Miller said, the song’s video “is about how deep depression and suicidal tendencies are extremely common and that you aren’t alone feeling so low there are ways to get through such an earth shattering headspace. So, hold on tight reach out to others and make it to the better days. Mental health is so important.”
