Alice Cooper’s recent performance at Jiffy Lube Live was a thrilling display of shock rock theatrics and musical energy that perfectly showcased his legendary status in the world of rock. As part of the Freaks on Parade Tour with Rob Zombie, Ministry, and Filter, Alice Cooper brought his unique blend of theatricality and hard-hitting rock to an adoring crowd.

At Jiffy Lube Live on Sept. 10, the setlist was packed with hits that spanned Cooper’s entire career, including “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “Poison,” “Under My Wheels” and “Feed My Frankenstein.”

Cooper’s signature theatricality took center stage, as the iconic front man donned various costumes and made use of his infamous stage props, including a giant guillotine, a straightjacket and a towering Frankenstein monster, all of which thrilled the audience.

At 76 years old, Cooper showed no signs of slowing down either. His voice is as strong as ever, and his stage presence commanded the attention of the entire amphitheater.

Backed by a top-tier band, including the shredding guitar work of Nita Strauss, the band injected fresh energy into classics, and kept the crowd on their feet the whole show.

Songs like “Under My Wheels” and “I’m Eighteen” took on new life with the tight instrumentation and Cooper’s effortless delivery and the visuals were as striking as the music.

Each song was accompanied by its own set of props, from the guillotine for “Ballad of Dwight Fry” to his pet snake for “Welcome to My Nightmare.”

Even Alice’s wife Sheryl got in on the festivities, performing as a mad Marie Antoinette type figure, who tempted Alice and led him to his doom on the guillotine, much to the crowd’s deviant delight.

These iconic props are part of what has made Alice Cooper’s shows legendary, and this concert was no exception. The balance of horror and humor in the stage production, combined with the raw power of the music, ensured that the audience was fully captivated by the nightmarish experience.

His macabre sense of humor came through clearly in these moments, providing comic relief amid the chaos of the stage show.

Cooper’s chemistry with the crowd was also undeniable. He frequently engaged with fans, holding out the microphone for sing-alongs and interacting with the audience between songs.

Closing the set with “School’s Out,” Cooper had the entire amphitheater dancing and singing along. Streamers, confetti, and giant balloons filled the air, creating a euphoric finale that felt like a twisted yet joyful carnival of evil.

Overall, the concert was a masterclass in combining theatrical rock music with horror visuals. Alice Cooper reminded the fans why he’s known as the “Godfather of Shock Rock” and proved that he’s still at the top of his game.
