With a completely sold out venue, Gunna recently set his band new tour’s standard high at The Anthem. Launching a nine-stop tour, Gunna began his trip here in DC, where he played to 6,000 fans at The Wharf. In promotion of his most recent album, One of Wun, the tour will span until the beginning of November, and it stops in major cities such as Boston, Houston, and Los Angeles.

Having first gained popularity in 2018 when he released his third mixtape, Gunna has had a rather impressive rise to fame. Aiding in his quick rise have been collaborations with artists such as Lil Baby, Offset, and Travis Scott, as well as his history playing shows with other big names like Future and DaBaby. While One of Wun is Gunna’s fifth studio album, it has certainly become a fan-favorite. The title song, “One of Wun,” has already garnered over 200 million Spotify streams since May of this year, while most other songs on the album range from 10-20 million streams.

The show was as entertaining as they come. Concert-goers were dressed in to the nines for the performance, and energy was high as the crowd awaited Gunna’s appearance. Though the beginning of his set was pushed back about 45 minutes, the crowd never lost its spirit. Once Gunna hit the stage, phones lit up and the whole venue was bouncing.

With a three-tiered stage, Gunna embraced the audience and put on a phenomenal show. From the top two levels of his stage, he was able to address the audience as a whole, while the bottom allowed him to get up close and personal with those standing on the barricade. He started with a live debut of “HIM ALL ALONG,” a song he had just released the day prior. He also, of course, played some of his most popular songs, like “Drip Too Hard,” “P Power,” and “fukumean,” which all had the entire venue moving in unison and created energy that was through the roof.

In sum, Gunna put on a show that was incredibly promising for the rest of his tour. If you’re a fan of his music and have the chance to catch him playing in a city near you, I highly recommend checking it out.
