On Dec. 20, Maggie Rose playing at the Bethesda Theatre in the first of two shows. It’s become something of a holiday tradition! Maggie played a set of her original songs to start the show, but then she rolled into an extended performance of holiday classics, including “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “White Christmas,” “Silent Night,” and more! No One Gets Out Alive is a master class in contemporary pop craftsmanship, hearkening back to early ‘70s Laurel Canyon, with Maggie’s big, soulful voice taking center stage. The songs deal in both dark and hopeful themes — disillusionment in relationships, ageism, female empowerment, and living in the moment, among them.
