If classic rock and roll hits you in the heart, and you still want to catch one of the greatest bands of the era, then you simply should try to catch a 10cc show while they are still touring and have so many original artists left in the group. At the band’s recent show at The Birchmere, 1970s-era members included Graham Gouldman on bass, Rick Finn on lead guitars, and Paul Burgess on drums — alongside Keith Hayman on keyboards and Andy Park on lead vocals.
Seeing the band on Sept. 14 at The Birchmere during this greatest hits tour was a pleasure, and quite honestly left me wanting more shows from the band.
The highlights of the overall concert may have been the amazing instrumental, and solo pieces, but it should be noted that the band were superior playing their two monumental ’70s era tunes “I’m Not in Love” and “The Things We Do for Love.” Both tracks received standing ovations and had passion-filled responses from the fans. It was easy to see that some in attendance had wanted to see 10cc do these songs for many decades now. Getting to see 10cc for me was also a chance to check a show off the bucket list as well as hear live some of the staples I had grew up with in the 1970s. It was a monumental evening for a lot of us at the show.

One audience member commented to me after the show how well the 10cc band interacted with one another. From my perspective, the vocals were fantastic with Andy Park doing a great job as well as helping lead the band AND playing so many instruments. The ability of the band to continue playing 10cc music to the highest level is a testament of their outstanding musicianship. This ability also highlights how the music of that era stands the test of time and still resonates highly in the minds of the audience members that love this classic-era music. 10cc can consider themselves one of the great classic bands in the same tradition of bands such as Styx, Yes, and Toto and I think safe to say delighted each of the fans at The Birchmere show.
10cc, not to rest on their past, also highlighted a new song titled “Floating in Heaven” during the show, which was a song written by bassist Gouldman and Brian May from Queen. The song was highly received by the audience with the classic 10cc sound. During this segment, it was also a time for Gouldman to praise crew members, who had provided great support during the recent US tour.

Cole Larravide, a DC area musician opened the show and played a great 30-minute set before setting the stage for 10CC, opening the show with lots of energy that continued throughout the night.
I would love to see 10cc again soon! Perhaps playing a show while covering a complete album from their heyday — as you have seen with other classic rock bands — would be rewarding. All we can do is hope for more US tour dates, as this was the last date of the current US tour. The band continues playing in Europe during November, followed by more European dates in 2026. But, as of right now, there are no more US dates scheduled.
