The George Washington University invited the community to join the Walk for Peace on its final stop for a message of peace, blessings, and meditation. Nalinee Darmrong attended the gathering at the Charles E. Smith Center on Wednesday, Feb. 11, to photograph the monks.
This inspiring movement began on Oct. 26, 2025, when nearly two dozen Buddhist monks (also referred to as Bhantes) and Aloka the Peace Dog, from the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth, Texas, embarked on a 2,300-mile walking journey to Washington, DC, to promote national healing, unity, and compassion.
