New York soul band Melt played a bunch of new songs at 9:30 Club recently, and Steve Satzberg was there to photograph the show.
At 9:30 Club on Oct. 14, the quintet played 14 songs, at least nine of which may appear on an upcoming full-length album. They began the show with new song “Walk to Midnight.”

Melt performed other new songs like “Shy” and “The Door.” They also performed three songs from their debut EP, West Side Highway, closing their main set on the EP’s “Waves.”
In the middle of the show, Melt played their breakout single “Sour Candy.” And toward the end of the show, they covered “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac. They closed with an encore of “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young, a cover that they have become known to do.
DC-area funk band Strutman Lane opened the show!
Check out Melt’s website for more news of their upcoming album release as well as tourdates. We’ll undoubtedly see the young band here again in DC soon.
