I recently had the pleasure of attending the 10-year anniversary of the Love and War show at The Fillmore Silver Spring, featuring the talented Tamar Braxton. From the moment the show started, it was clear that this was going to be an energetic and captivating performance.

At The Fillmore Silver Spring on Oct. 30, Tamar kicked off the show with a series of high-paced songs, showcasing her incredible dance skills and hitting some impressive eight counts. I knew she wasn’t playing because she had those Jordan 1’s on ready to tear it down. The energy in the room was electric, and the audience was immediately drawn into the performance. A few times guest went on stage to dance. One of her dancers and concert goer chemistry was so intense he almost knocked her off her chair. It was a thrilling moment she couldn’t handle the heat lol.

Throughout the performance, Tamar allowed the audience to take the lead and perform many of the songs while she took a step back to change. However, Tamar made a powerful comeback when she returned to the stage to sing “All the Way Home.” Her connection to her hometown was palpable, and it added an extra layer of emotion to her performance.

It was evident that Tamar had been through some challenging times in her last relationship, and she channeled those emotions into her music. She sang with such raw vulnerability, and it was impossible not to feel the depth of her pain. One standout moment was when she performed “Stay and Fight,” a crowd favorite that reminded everyone that it’s worth fighting for love, even when the other person is playing games.

Midway through the show, there was a slight change in the atmosphere. Tamar took a moment to showcase her incredible vocal talent, and it was a completely different experience hearing her sing live compared to listening to her on record. Her voice was powerful and soulful, and I found myself reaching for my phone to capture the moment.

“Prettiest Girl” was undoubtedly another fan favorite, and the crowd erupted with excitement when Tamar performed it. The energy in the room was infectious, and it was clear that everyone was having a fantastic time.

Toward the end of the show, Tamar played “Last Call” by her sister Traci Braxton, and the lights in the house lit up. It was a beautiful tribute, I shed a tear. Tamar brought out Trace’s son, Kevin, who thanked the audience for their love and support after the passing of his mother, it was a touching moment.

Tamar closed the show with her number one single, “Love and War,” and she invited fans to join her on stage to sing along. Many from different cities come together to share the stage with Tamar. Gigi, Jas, Sincerely, Devin, Twon, Denia, and Coco all brought their unique voices and energy to the performance, creating a truly unforgettable finale.

Overall, the 10-year anniversary of the Love and War show at the Fillmore Silver Spring was a night to remember. Tamar’s talent and passion shone through every moment, and her ability to connect with the audience was truly remarkable. It was a live performance that exceeded all expectations, and I left the venue feeling good, people stayed back to dance to Baltimore house music and take pictures the party kept going until they were kicked out.
