New York City country troubadour Dougie Poole and funky DC rockers Bottled Up share a bill at Comet Ping Pong on Saturday, April 8!
A country songwriter from Brooklyn’s indie underground, Dougie Poole blurs the lines between genre and generation on his third solo album, The Rainbow Wheel of Death (released via Wharf Cat Records). Rooted in sharp songwriting, Poole’s golden baritone, and the organic sounds of a live-in-the-studio band, it’s a classic-sounding record for the modern world, stocked with songs that make room for everything from old-school synthesizers to contemporary storytelling.

Bottled Up’s Grand Bizarre, the band’s debut album via Misra Records, took the idea of punk and made it global, digital, and online in 2022.
From finding meaning in a world riddled with climate change, playing love’s supernatural mind games, or as frontman Nikhil Rao puts it, the daily act of “subconsciously submitting and surrendering to death” — Bottled Up produced an utterly danceable album of as-the-world-burns Italo, funk, and new wave.
