Baltimore’s CFG Arena was recently transformed into a vibrant hub of musical nostalgia and excitement by The New Edition Way Tour. The event offered a fresh take on the traditional concert format, delivering an unforgettable Valentine’s Day experience that broke away from conventional norms.
Rather than relying on separate opening acts on Feb. 14, the tour featured New Edition, Boyz II Men, and Toni Braxton in a unique round-robin style, where the artists fluidly transitioned between each other’s sets for a Valentine’s Day spectacular. Performing on a 360-degree stage, the musicians ensured that the energy never faltered, as each act seamlessly wove in and out of the spotlight, making for nearly three hours of uninterrupted classics.
The evening was expertly paced, with New Edition anchoring the festivities by repeatedly returning to the stage to deliver beloved group anthems such as “Candy Girl” and “Cool It Now.” These group performances were interspersed with solo highlights from Bobby Brown, Ralph Trevant, BBD, and Johnny Gill, allowing each member to shine individually.

Toni Braxton, the sole solo headliner of the night, mesmerized the audience with flawless renditions of hits like “Un-Break My Heart” and “He Wasn’t Man Enough.” Her performances were further enhanced by striking costume changes and choreography that blended seamlessly into the overall show.
Boyz II Men completed the powerhouse lineup, enchanting the crowd with their impeccable harmonies on romantic classics such as “End Of The Road” and “On Bended Knee.”
The smooth transitions between these legendary artists fostered a sense of community and camaraderie, turning the event into a joyful celebration of R&B history. Rather than feeling like a succession of individual performances, the concert embraced a collaborative spirit, bringing together fans and musicians alike in a lively, shared experience.
