Americana/Outlaw Country powerhouse band Reckless Kelly has been burning up stages with their high-energy blend of rock and country music since 1996. Fronted by central Idaho natives Willy and Cody Braun, the brothers are part of a rich musical legacy that spans three generations.
The gents are set to release their new album, Alternate Routes, on Friday! But before then, they perform live in a co-headlining show with Roger Clyne at The Hamilton Live in DC on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
In 2024, the Americana legends released their 17th Studio album, The Last Frontier, which features two No. 1 hit radio singles — “Keep Lookin’ Down The Road” and “What’s Left of My Heart.”
The new album features a brand-new recording of their iconic anthem “Wicked Twisted Road.” Penned by frontman Willy Braun, “Wicked Twisted Road” has become the band’s most-streamed track and a fan favorite that Reckless Kelly performs every night. Nearly three decades into their career, the band has re-recorded the song to reflect how it has evolved.
“Over the years, the way we’ve played ‘Wicked Twisted Road’ has steadily evolved much like the band has,” said Willy. “This new version captures how we play it now, an updated full band rendition that’s been fine-tuned after a few thousand live performances over the last 20 years.”

Alternate Routes, due out this fall, finds Reckless Kelly rerecording some of their most beloved songs in order to own the masters, joining a growing trend popularized by artists like Taylor Swift, and John Fogerty, who are reclaiming their catalogs by breathing new life into fan favorites.
Cody added, “Willy and I produced these definitive versions of these songs, recording them with our band and a few of our friends at our favorite studio, our way. People often ask how they can listen to our music and make sure that their hard-earned money is going directly to the band and not some record label bank account. Streaming these new versions of the songs instead of the old versions whenever you can is a perfect example of how to support the band directly.”
The release of the “Wicked Twisted Road (Alternate Routes)” single coincides with the fall leg of Reckless Kelly’s The Last Frontier Tour, with shows in the Northeast and ending the year in Texas — and of course including our date at The Hamilton Live along the way!
