Peter Hook & The Light are currently on a US tour celebrating the music of New Order and Joy Division. Hooky and his band arrive in DC for a show at 9:30 Club on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
At 9:30 Club, Peter Hook & The Light will perform the New Order album Get Ready in its entirety, alongside a selection of classic tracks from the extensive catalogs of both Joy Division and New Order. Hooky’s last show at 9:30 Club sold out, so don’t miss this fantastic return!
Released in 2001, Get Ready reached No. 2 on the US Billboard electronic albums chart and No. 6 on the UK albums chart. New Order’s seventh studio album, it was dedicated to Rob Gretton, the longtime manager of both Joy Division and New Order, who died in 1999.
Indie rock trivia masters might also recall that The Killers took their name from the fictional band featured in New Order’s video for “Crystal,” the lead single from Get Ready.

Peter Hook first revisited Joy Division’s seminal album Unknown Pleasures in May 2010 for a commemorative charity concert. Since then, he has continued working his way through the catalogs of Joy Division and New Order, performing their albums live in full. The project has taken Peter Hook & The Light through Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Still, Movement, Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood, Technique, Republic, and the Substance compilations before arriving at Get Ready in 2025 and 2026. Along the way, the band has amassed well over 800 shows.
The tour comes during a milestone year for Hooky. Joy Division and New Order are members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026, with Hook recognized alongside Ian Curtis, Gillian Gilbert, Stephen Morris, and Bernard Sumner. It’s a fitting honor for a musician now spending his nights onstage celebrating the remarkable body of work that earned him a place in the Hall.
