Sports Park: Playoffs – D.C. United vs. Montreal Impact @ RFK Stadium, 10/27/16

United vs. Impact

Playoff Seed: #4

Let’s hope your D.C. United can do what the Washington Nationals could not, advance in the playoffs. (Too soon?)

The United get their chance against the Montreal Impact on Thursday, October 27th.

Entering as the #4 seed, they get a home game against the #5 seed Impact. Winner of this knockout game will play against one of the New York teams in a two-game home/away series. So if your United beat the Impact, they will get a home game on Sunday, October 30th.

Let’s go United! Get your tickets here.

Audacious Assertion: United 2, Impact 0

DC United's New Logo

Season Record: 10-9-13 (43 points)

Your D.C. United is on a hot streak. Winning three games in a row and going 5-1-4 (19 points) over the last 10, they have made themselves known to the Eastern Conference as a real threat. They are here for the playoffs, and they will not be denied.

Sitting in 5th place, with two games remaining, the United are definitely poised for another playoff run. They just need one more win to clinch a spot. They take on 1st place New York City FC on Sunday, October 16th.

The United are 0-2 against NYC FC this season, but I still think they keep the winning streak alive at home, so come out and witness victory. Buy your tickets here.

Go United!

Sports Park: D.C. United vs. Columbus Crew SC @ RFK Stadium, 9/28/16

United v Crew

Season Record: 8-9-13 (37 points)

Your D.C. United put on a clinic last Saturday against Orlando City, scoring at will and winning 4-1.

Patrick Mullins netted two more goals, and has been a positive force in the 11 games he’s played in since coming from New York City FC in July.

The United jumped into the sixth and final playoff spot with the result, and as a bonus, are one point behind Montreal for fifth place.

With only four games remaining (including two home games), the United should keep the momentum alive against Columbus at home on Wednesday, September 28th.

It should be a fun ride closing out the regular season!

The final home game for the United is October 16.

DC United's New Logo

Season Record: 7-9-13 (34 points)

After going 1-1-3 (6 points) over the last five games, your United are still looking upwards in the hopes they can climb into the final playoff spot.

With only five games left, sitting in 7th place in the Eastern Conference, the United have some work to do.

Lamar Neagle is leading the team in goals scored (6), adding two in September so far. Yet the United remain near the bottom of the Conference in total goals scored (39).

I think they find the momentum they need starting this Saturday and beat the purple Pride of Orlando. The two teams are tied in the standings.

No more draws allowed, something has to give.

Sports Park: D.C. United vs. New York Red Bulls @ RFK Stadium, 8/21/16

UnitedvRedBull

Season Record: 6-8-9 (27 points)

Nice! Your D.C. United took it to Portland last Saturday, winning 2-0, for a much needed win. Those three points landed them in 6th place in the Eastern Conference, just a point clear for a playoff spot.

This Sunday, August 21st the United battle the New York Red Bulls. The Red Bulls are in 2nd place (36 pts) in the Eastern Conference, also winning on Saturday, so this is the team the United needs to get points from. Your D.C. United beat New York 2-0 the first time they played. They play a third and final time in NY on September 11th.

Unfortunately, I think this one turns into a draw.

Sports Park: D.C. United vs. Portland Timbers @ RFK Stadium, 8/13/16

United vs Timbers

Season Record: 5-8-9 (24 points)

From defeat to draw! Your D.C. United scored a thrilling goal in stoppage time last Saturday (8/6) and salvaged a point against the Philadelphia Union.

Two home games. Two draws. Two points. Not what the doctor ordered, but any points are needed at this stage. The United remain in eighth place, two points removed from a playoff spot.

Next up, on Saturday, August 13th the United take on the Portland Timbers. Portland (32 pts) is in sixth place in the Western Conference, coming off a 3-0 win on Sunday.

I have a good feeling the United will get it done this weekend. Victory is beckoning.

Sports Park: D.C. United vs. Philadelphia Union @ RFK Stadium, 8/6/16

PHI-v-DC

Season Record: 5-8-8 (23 points)

Your D.C. United match up against the Philadelphia Union this Saturday, August 6th.

This is the second of four consecutive home games for the United, they played to a 1-1 draw last weekend against the Montreal Impact.

Philadelphia has owned the series this season, winning both previous games, 1-0 and 3-0. The Union sit tied for third place in the Eastern Conference (30 points). This is the final tilt between these two teams (outside the playoffs if they make it).

The United should be up to the task of winning this one, otherwise their playoff chances are slipping away.
