Riley Green has been on a tear across the United States over the past few years, and his Cowboy As It Gets Tour recently stopped at Jiffy Lube Live for a sold-out show in front of more than 23,000 screaming fans. Green, who possesses one of country music’s indisputably great voices, left it all onstage as he and his band delivered an outstanding 90-minute set in Bristow, Va.
Green is currently touring in support of his upcoming album, That’s Just Me, due out Sept. 18.
Opening the show were Hannah McFarland, Zach John King, and Justin Moore at Jiffy Lube Live on August 8.
McFarland kicked off the night of great country music. She and Green released the successful duet “Go Again” in July, with the song reaching No. 5 on the country charts. While fans have grown accustomed to seeing Ella Langley alongside Green in recent years, she is not currently on this tour. Instead, Green has found another strong duet partner in McFarland, and “Go Again” has become one of the year’s standout collaborations. Near the end of Green’s set, McFarland returned to perform the song with him, much to the delight of the crowd.
Zach John King followed with a strong second opening set, featuring tracks from his debut album, I’m What You Get. The album includes “Get to Drinkin’” and “Way to Go,” his collaboration with Brooks & Dunn.
Justin Moore finished out the opening performances with a fantastic set highlighting several of his No. 1 hits. It was great to see Moore back onstage performing favorites such as “Small Town USA” and “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away,” especially after he had taken a self-imposed hiatus from touring for a few weeks. He sounded better than ever.
Green, as fans have come to know, simply strolls onto the stage and immediately takes command.
He did just that at Jiffy Lube Live, opening with a great version of one of his finest songs, “Different ’Round Here.” The song, centered on American and particularly Southern values and rural life, highlights both Green’s songwriting and the voice that has become one of the staples of modern country music. Green has an ability to write seemingly simple songs that get straight to the heart of the matter, often drawing on the Alabama life he knows firsthand.

Green also makes a point of honoring his fellow country artists on tour. The Bristow show included songs associated with Thomas Rhett, Jamey Johnson, Toby Keith and Alabama.
Another strength of the evening was Green’s willingness to share the stage. He performed with each of his opening acts, and those collaborations produced some of the night’s best moments.
For me, the biggest highlight was Green performing “Jesus Saves.” It’s a great story song and a heartfelt moment every time Green performs it live, and Jiffy Lube Live was no exception. Soon afterward, he brought McFarland back to the stage for “Go Again” and “Don’t Mind If I Do,” the latter of which previously featured Langley alongside Green.
Green closed the main set with “Worst Way,” his first solo No. 1 hit. The song always gets the audience moving, and it has become one of country music’s biggest hits of the past couple of years.

Green returned for the encore with the fan favorite “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” before bringing Moore, King and McFarland back to the stage for a grand finale: a cover of Alabama’s “Dixieland Delight.”
The sold-out show at Jiffy Lube Live was a fantastic night of country music, with Green in great form ahead of the release of his new album. He has firmly established himself among the top artists in country music today, something made clear by the massive crowd that packed the Bristow amphitheater. His songwriting and ability to craft songs that get to the heart of country music should ensure that Green remains there for years to come.
Green will continue touring into 2027, giving fans plenty more opportunities to catch him live. They will not be disappointed.
