Marilyn Hucek brings a special, heartfelt performance to DC9 on Friday, Feb. 6, to celebrate the release of her debut album MARILYN, featuring songs rooted in vulnerability, love, and emotional honesty.
Marilyn Hucek, is an American-Chilean artist and singer-songwriter born in Washington DC. From a young age Marilyn would write songs before she knew what songwriting was and later learned to play piano and guitar. Growing up with a multicultural background her musical influences have been wide-ranging. She enjoys singing and writing in both English and Spanish incorporating her upbringing into her artistry.
Marilyn’s late father battled early-onset Alzheimer’s for several years, which impacted her deeply. She wrote and dedicated a special song in his honor which became her debut single and launched her career as a full-time artist. The themes in her music cover love, loss, heartbreak, and writing from personal experiences and observations.
