A Christmas-themed cocktail: Gretchen, Stop Trying to Make Fetch Happen (Photo by Joy Asico)
Last Christmas, Derek Brown had an idea! A clever idea!
Derek got a wonderful, amazing idea!
(To be fair, he borrowed the idea from a friend in New York City.)
He would make Christmas even better! And so away he lept with Angie Fetherston and Drink Company and they magically transformed their bar Mockingbird Hill into the super-festival Miracle on 7th Street (named in equal parts for its address at 1843 7th St. NW, DC, and a movie about holiday shopping at the Macy’s department store, Miracle on 34th Street.)
This year, Derek and company are bringing Miracle on 7th Street back and even bigger than before! This year, Miracle on 7th Street will settle not only at Mockingbird Hill but also will take over its neighboring bars, Eat the Rich and Southern Efficiency.
“Last year was so much fun, it’s hard to imagine how we could make it more fun, but guess what: we will,” said Derek in a press release.
The big holiday party starts on Friday, Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgiving. In addition to the popular cocktails invented for last year’s holiday, Stella Artois and Budweiser have partnered with Miracle on 7th Street to create a new beer cocktail as well.
Miracle on 7th Street will run from Nov. 25 through New Year’s Eve, when it will close with a big party on Dec. 31. Until then, enjoy these pictures of the Miracle on 7th Street offerings, which are sure to put you in the holiday spirit!
