Last year, I had the opportunity to see Puscifer, live, for the first time. The show was so wild that when they came to the area again, I had to go see it one more time. Puscifer’s current tour, Existential Reckoning Tour 3.0 – Global Probing, takes the band to areas that they missed on the 2.0 tour.

The Lyric Baltimore was on that list, so I got my camera and went to see the show.

At The Lyric Baltimore on June 1, the tour changed little from Tour 2.0, all the way down to the synth-pop/darkwave opening act, Night Club. But with a show filled with aliens, conspiracies, and SPAM, not much needed to change. The whole thing began with the warning that there were to be no photos or video taken during the show. In fact, anyone seen taking pictures or video would be promptly escorted from their seat and quickly turned into SPAM.

The band is the same exceptional group of musicians that toured for the 2.0 show: mainstays Carina Round on vocals and synths and Mat Mitchell on guitars and synths. Greg Edwards and Gunnar Olsen performed on bass and drums, respectively. Maynard’s persona for this iteration of Puscifer is Agent Dick Merkin.

The show varied very little from last November’s. The main difference was my vantage point where I could see that instead of “discovering” someone in the audience taking photos and being removed to be turned into SPAM, the perpetrator was another Puscifer character, Billy D.

Check out the review of Puscifer at the Warner Theatre in November 2022 for Parklife DC here:

The show was broken into three acts. The only difference in this show was replacing Indigo Children from the DC performance with Momma Sed in the Baltimore appearance. For me, it was a fun show to experience, even if there isn’t much difference from the 2.0 Tour. It’s entertaining, the musicianship is great, and the sound and lights are fantastic. It’s a great mixture of sci-fi and camp. If they tour a Version 4.0, I’d go see that, too.
