Electronic rockbound Le Tigre, led by Gen X posterwoman Kathleen Hanna, reunited and launched a North American tour that began in May. Recently, Le Tigre roared into Baltimore Soundstage for a sold-out show on that reunion tour, delighting fans with a set heavy on their self-titled debut album (1999).

At Baltimore Soundstage on July 19, Le Tigre opened the show with “The the Empty” from their debut record, and closed the main set with the clever “Eau d’Bedroom Dancing” from the same album.
Fans need not wonder if the trio played “Deceptacon,” their genre-bending and rhythm-blending crossover indie hit, as they did indeed close their encore with the song. Le Tigre chose seven songs from the Le Tigre album, and they performed four songs from This Island (2004), including “TKO.”

Le Tigre also performed three songs from sophomore album Feminist Sweepstakes (2001), notably picking up “Keep on Livin'” toward the end of the show. Perhaps the biggest surprise surfaced early in the show with a rare performance of “FYR” from Le Tigre Live! (2012).
All three members of the band were in good spirits, and Kathleen, Johanna Fateman, and JD Samson really brought great energy and punk spirit to Baltimore Soundstage. Le Tigre closed their USA tour with three dates at Brooklyn Steel last week, but perhaps they will return? Audiences clearly showed their love for the band’s unique musical stylings on this tour, and perhaps we will see them again soon.
