No man was left behind recently at The Fillmore Silver Spring when Earl Sweatshirt took charge. From the moment the concert started, everyone was on stage for everyone else’s set. At no point during the opening acts did Earl Sweatshirt leave the stage, and this just shows a whole other level of support that all of the artists share for one another.

Who opens a concert with house music that transcends to Rico Nasty, then to a AI Patrick Star? DJ Black Noi$e does! Producer DJ Black Noi$e took the stage on Nov. 20 and made it his home with his wide collection of music.

He was able to go from house, to Rico, to Kanye, to Skrillex, to Patrick gospel, to Sexyy Red, to Shabazz, Gogo, Dipset, Pink Panthers all in one set and keep the crowd engaged! His technique is simply unheard of, but the crowd, including myself, loved every second of it! He is truly a DJ for the people!

Next to perform was Mike, and the message was so beautiful. He performed four songs, with the first one being “Burning Desire.” Mike encouraged anyone with a little singing voice inside of them to sing along with him to this song. The crowd went absolutely crazy and sang their hearts out with Mike.

Mike also made sure that everyone in the building, from the light technicians to the bartenders and even the crowd themselves, felt loved by shouting them all out group by group.

The legendary and iconic The Alchemist was up next and kept the momentum going. Earl and the Alchemist released a joint album in August of 2023. The Alchemist then introduced Earl Sweatshirt to the crowd.

Earl Sweatshirt was already on stage having fun with DJ Black Noi$e, Mike, and the Alchemist before he was formally introduced. Earl played songs ranging from his whole discography, starting with the track “E. Coli” from The Alchemist’s Sandwich album. Earl even performed an unreleased song called “Proud Of Me” to the The Fillmore Silver Spring crowd.

Earl had a special DMV artist come out and perform one of his songs to the crowd. The whole stage went up for this song, and Earl told everyone that they would be doing the song again for a second time later in the set because it was so good!

The crowd was a melting pot of different people who came together for this rare event. There was even a special appearance by three Teletubbies Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po in the crowd, cheering the artists on. When Earl noticed, he shouted them out and they ran to the front to be closer to the magic.

All of the performing artists were super personable, making jokes, laughing, drinking, smoking, and truly having a great time! It was like watching a bunch of friends hanging out and being incredibly talented.
