Singer/songwriter Bryson Tiller recently put on a dark and moody performance at The Fillmore Silver Spring, marking his second sold-out show of the year at the shiny music venue.

I missed the March show, so being there for the second leg was a must.

Embracing a Back to the Future theme, Bryson rocked the iconic Nike MAG sneakers, illuminating the stage with their $76,925 value on Dec. 9. With a catalog like Bryson Tiller’s, you can’t help but pour your heart out whether reminiscing about an old crush, confessing your love, or regretting hurting someone dear.

Pen Griffey had it all covered. The stage mirrored the emotional rollercoaster in the room, occasionally revealing the artist’s face, but mostly focusing on the music, lyrics, and occasional visuals on the screen. A pivotal moment occurred when he thanked everyone for supporting him through his challenging battle with depression in 2018. It took him some time to realize he belonged here, and the fans proved that.

Bryson continued to sell out shows, belting hits like “Let ‘Em Know” and “Right My Wrongs” from debut album Trapsoul (2015) and “Inhale” from third album Anniversary (2020).

And the cherry on top? Bryson told us that new music is on the way, sending waves of excitement through the fans in the sold-out show at The Fillmore Silver Spring. We even caught a sneak peek at the end of the DJ’s set, leaving us eagerly anticipating what’s to come. Don’t get me wrong every feature his been on has been dope and we get by with EPs but I believe it’s time for more new music.

Not sure if I was tripping but I didn’t get much of a Back to the Future vibe. I thought it was more of a Tron theme. Him getting sucked into the game, trying to find his way out. Or he was just inspired by game culture in general *head shrug* either way I thought visuals and lighting looked nice. Did we get a chance to see him as much NO! But that’s all right he still put in a great show.
