DC indie rock band Broke Royals release their latest EP, Big Dream, on Jan. 26. The next day, the band perform in an EP release show at Songbyrd Music House!

This EP marks a significant departure for the band, as it’s the first time not every song features Philip Basnight on lead vocals. Rebecca Basnight takes center stage with the high-energy track “One Look,” while Taimir Gore brings a unique touch to the contemplative “Toasted Almond.”

The Big Dream EP showcases a diverse mix, from the upbeat tempos of “Big Dream,” “No Time For Love,” and “One Look,” to the more experimental and introspective vibes of “Toasted Almond” and a modern indie rendition of The Strokes’ classic, “Is This It.”

To celebrate the EP release, Broke Royals headline an EP release show at Songbyrd Music House in Washington, DC, on Jan. 27. Joining them are Milo In The Doldrums and Dear Daria, also celebrating their own EP releases. This event promises to be an extraordinary showcase of indie music talent and a celebration of new music.

The Big Dream EP represents a significant chapter in Broke Royals’ journey, showcasing their versatility and creativity. Available on all major streaming platforms upon its release, the EP is set to resonate with both long-time fans and newcomers alike.

Hailing from Washington, DC, Broke Royals have emerged with an arena-ready, sing-along sound that’s resonated across the music industry. The band, comprising a tight-knit group of musicians, have a track record of three gripping albums, each echoing their gift for creating emotionally rich and hook-laden tunes or, as The Washington Post called it, “pristine pop-rock.” Their last album, Local Support, was released via Byrdland Records in 2022. It was produced by Bartees Strange.
