Multiple reports emerged today that Rams Head Live! in the Power Plant deexopjment of downtown Baltimore will soon close. Power Plant Live told news outlets that Rams Head Live! Did not renew its lease.

The reports prompted Rams Head Group to clarify that it sold the venue to Los Angeles-based AEG Presents in 2015, and the potential closure has no impact on Rams Head Group properties.

To recap, Rams Head Group and Rams Head Presents built Rams Head Live in 2004. Throughout its first decade, the venue welcomed more than one million people to live concerts. Then, Rams Head Presents sold Rams Head Live! to AEG in August 2015.

“The venue retained the name due to Rams Head’s presence in the industry and brand recognition throughout Maryland and the surrounding region,” Rams Head Group said.

“We are proud to have built Rams Head Live! from the ground up and to have been a key part in developing the music scene in Downtown Baltimore and the Power Plant Live! district,” said Kyle Muehlhauser, Rams Head Presents and Rams Head Group owner. “We’re hopeful the facility will remain a music venue and the Baltimore music scene will continue to thrive”.

A review of the calendar for Rams Head Live! reveals the venue has no shows booked after Nov. 15, which features Panchiko headlining.

A Power Point Live spokesman told news outlets that the Rams Head Live! theatre will continue to operate as a music venue after renovations.

“The venue will temporarily close while it undergoes enhancements and will continue to be an exciting home for live music, festivals, events and parties in downtown Baltimore when it reopens,” the spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
