There seems to be an aura in the air when the five members of The Main Squeeze enter a room. A multicultural five-piece from Los Angeles, California, The Main Squeeze have built a cult following in the States on the road — putting rubber to pavement and playing over 1,000 shows together. For a group of men with completely different backgrounds, tastes, religions, and opinions, there’s already a spirit shared among them when they sit down to play together.
On March 12 at The Atlantis, the prolific musicmakers showcased their new album, Panorama, dedicating most of the show to it.

The Main Squeeze also reached back to their 2012 self-titled debut album for numbers including “Dr. Funk” and “I’ll Take Another.” They also performed several covers such as “Take Me Out” by Franz Ferdinand and “Fire” by Jimi Hendrix. They were joined on a few other covers by their opener Antwaun Stanley.
Steve was just as excited to photograph Antwaun! Here’s what Steve said on Instagram about the opener: “Antwaun Stanley opened up for The Main Squeeze at The Atlantis in DC Wednesday night. I’ve heard him perform with others, but this was the first time I’ve seen him as the leader of his own band. He’s an electrifying performer with a great voice. He was accompanied by the very talented Jon Notar.”
