Ranting, chanting, and releasing their signature-loud primal scream set the stage for an explosive set by Mannequin Pussy at 9:30 Club! The band recently played non-stop punk, pop. and pure rock and roll to a sold-out crowd for a second night in a row for a date on their I Got Heaven Tour.
If you have not seen Mannequin Pussy yet, find a date and go see them as they play a profound rock set that *must* be seen live. The band consists of Colins Regisford on bass, Kaleen Reading on drums, Maxine Steen on guitar, and Marisa Dabice on vocals. Their music has political undertones and delves into anti-fascist and anti-capitalist views with a feeling of world peace as they push their energy levels during the shows higher and higher. Dabice is one of the finest frontpersons in rock music today, constantly adding up political perspectives, unparalleled energy moving back and forth on stage, and highly connected to the band’s music as she helps propel the band to higher levels.
As seen at 9:30 Club on June 18, Mannequin Pussy continue getting better and better. Some of the key moments at 9:30 Club were the songs “Everything,” “I Got Heaven,” “OK?, OK!, OK?, OK!,” and “Romantic.”

Deux Visages from Miami opened the show with a stellar 30-minute set featuring some of their best tracks — “Radio Silence,” “Afterthought,” and “Tethered” — before relinquishing the stage to Mannequin Pussy, who totally chewed up the stage for the evening. Deux Visages also has a high-energy frontwoman, Daphney Hanono, who is formidable in her own right with great vocals and energy on stage.
Fans sang, danced, and screamed along to the songs from both bands during the evening, and they were not shy about crowdsurfing either.
