The Catskills is a magical region and it’s been home to a great number of singer-songwriters and different types of musicians who’ve come into their own in these cozy mountains of Downstate New York.
A terrific recent case study would be Hannah Cohen, whose latest studio album, Earthstar Mountain, is a delightful compilation of music she created over the course of five years living there. It’s her best work so far, and it’s helping her attract more listeners quite rapidly.

Cohen’s been out on tour this month with a band that includes Núria Graham on guitar, Sean “Moon” Mullins on drums, Devon Yesberger on keys, and Lane Beckstrom on bass. She’s received additional support from Kristin Slipp of mmeadows, the NYC-based opening act on her current run, and — last weekend — Maryland singer-songwriter Keenan O’Meara.
The night of April 4, she and her entire crew visited The Atlantis in Washington, DC, where fans gathered on the first and second floors of the venue to hear Cohen’s distinctive voice and to enjoy the dreamy tunes off her spring 2025 release.
Parklife DC was on hand for the headlining performance this past Saturday night.
