Lupe Fiasco, born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, released his sixth studio album, Drogas Light, in February via 1st and 15th Productions — and he stops at 9:30 Club on Friday, June 2 while on tour to promote it!
For the new album, Lupe Fiasco mined his unfinished songs for 14 songs, where he collaborates with a lot of other performers, for the first of a three-album trilogy. His most recent single was “Jump,” which recently received a video treatment.

Pitchfork praised the latest effort by Lupe, and Edwn “STATS” Houghton wrote in a review, “Ultimately, DROGAS Light reaffirms, rather than fundamentally alters, Lupe’s place in the rap pantheon. He’s always been too lyrical and heady to count out as an innovator in the game, even if his moves sometimes make you want to do just that. But here, with a newfound urgency to his sound, he proves once again that he is still the brainy smurf of rap.”
Sounds like a good time to catch the man in action! Buy your tickets online.
