Snallygaster returns to Yards Park in DC on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Snallygaster is the most robust, diverse, and carefully curated beer festival in DC (and I daresay likely the entire eastern seaboard), and it is returning for its sixth edition at Yards Park (1300 First St. SE, DC) on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Here is what we know so far! You must be 21 and over to drink, and a general admission pass (Cyclops) costs you $35, which includes your mug and 30 food and drink tickets. If you are feeling ambitious, VIP access (Jabberwock) gets you into the festival 90 minutes early, which is vital for those rare beers that go quickly. (In years past, several specialty beers tapped out during the VIP session.) VIP tickets cost $65, which includes your mug and 30 food and drink tickets.
Brought to you by Greg Engert and his colleagues at the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, Snallygaster attracts many of the owners and brewers of your favorite beers, differentiating it substantially from other beer festivals. The assembled beer brain trust alone makes Snallygaster worth your while!
This year, Snallygaster promised more than 350 craft beers at Yards Park. Snallygaster organizers will soon publish a full list of beers. Food vendors including food trucks and specialty stands will be on hand to provide you with some food to lay a foundation for all of that beer and to chase it down when you’re hungry. Expect lobster rolls, hot dogs, pizza, BBQ, and more!
As with years past, Snallygaster also will feature concert performances. Stay tuned for more info.
