Judas Priest’s latest studio album, Firepower, landed in the Top 5 of 17 countries (including their highest chart placement ever in the US at #5). The legendary metal band performed at The Anthem last year, and that show was so successful that they have returned to do it again on Sunday, May 12.
In a statement, Judas Priest called their fans to arms: “Metal maniacs — Judas Priest is roaring back to the USA for one more blast of Firepower! Firepower 2019 charges forth with new first-time performances born out of Firepower, as well as fresh classic cuts across the decades from the Priest world metalsphere. Our visual stage set and light show will be scorching a unique, hot, fresh vibe — mixing in headline festivals as well as the in-your-face venue close ups. We can’t wait to reunite and reignite our maniacs… THE PRIEST IS BACK!”
So of course, the band will perform its famous classics as well as new songs!

In a review for Clash, Josh Gray said Judas Priest decided to remind people of their greatness with their new album.
“As far as I can tell, Judas Priest just woke up one morning and suddenly remembered how to be the greatest heavy metal band on the planet again. Though it is far too early to start talking about this as one of their finest records, I have no doubt that ‘Firepower’ could slip through a wormhole in time to stand in the mighty presence of ‘British Steel’ and ‘Screaming For Vengeance’ and feel no shame,” Josh wrote.
