Earlier this year, DC rapper Shy Glizzy released Covered ‘N Blood, his second studio album, via 300 Entertainment and Gizzy Gang. Then, he dropped a new EP, titled Aloha, and he went on tour and performed at The Fillmore Silver Spring recently. Chris Castillo got some pictures!
Shy Glizzy, born Marquis Amonte King, was inspired by Hawaii on his new EP. He stayed there for two weeks to make the record. The first single “Wakiki Flow” kicks off the EP, with no hook or interruptions giving a sneak peek into Glizzy’s stream of consciousness and sets the tone for the rest of the project. Featuring production from heavy-hitters Harry Fraud and Wondagurl, ALOHA finds Glizzy returning back to his roots of raw lyrics and unfiltered flows.

He first burst on the scene in 2014 with his viral singles “Awwsome” and “White Girl,” garnering millions of streams and boasting collaborations with some of the industry’s biggest players such as Lil Uzi Vert, Gunna, Young Thug, and more! In 2017, Glizzy appeared on Goldlink’s hit single “Crew” earning his first Grammy nomination.
DMV rapper MoneyMarr accompanied Shy Glizzy on this tour, so we got pictures of the young trapper as well! The prolific and gifted lyricist is best known perhaps for his #1 hit “Whip Out the Stick.”
