One Way Out recently released “Black Lungs (and a Broken Heart),” the latest single from their upcoming album, and the gents took the time to chat with Parklife DC’s Mickey McCarter about their new music, their methods, and their 2021 Wammie nominations!
The band is comprised of lead singer Josh Gaba, guitarist Jake Schaefer, drummer Geist Topping, bassist Giulio Iacoviello, and keyboardist Ari Rubenstein.

The latest song tells the story of the “Freedom Man,” and the band discuss the concept of the Freedom Man in our Zoom chat! The single was recorded at Capitol Hill’s Ivakota studios with engineer and producer Ben Green (Fairweather).

“Black Lungs (and a Broken Heart)” follows 2020’s “Black Walls,” which received a Wammie Awards nomination for Best Hard Rock Song — and One Way Out also are nominated for Best Hard Rock Group. The band’s debut album Cosmic Beat was nominated for Best Hard Rock Album in the 2020 Wammies.
