Acclaimed singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Amy Helm releases her upcoming album What the Flood Leaves Behind (Renew Records/BMG) on June 18. One week prior to that, Amy performs at The Hamilton Live in DC on Friday, June 11!
Amy’s new album was produced by Josh Kaufman (Taylor Swift, Bonny Light Horseman). Her textured, emotive vocals soar throughout the release, reflecting her inner strength and personal journey.
After over a year, Amy Helm is ready to perform live again. She said, “Spring is here and the music is moving me to get back out on the road! No zoom links just a joyful noise with real people in real time! We’ve put together a handful of selective dates this summer. Can’t wait to see you out there.”

“Sweet Mama” follows singles “Breathing” and “Are We Running Out of Love” which have both excited current fans and introduced Amy to new listeners. Rolling Stone Country called “Breathing” “part urgent plea, part mysterious flirtation carried by Helm’s soulful voice and the spacious production from Josh Kaufman.”
Amy recorded What The Flood Leaves Behind at Levon Helm Studios. In addition to Kaufman, an all-star team of players joined helm for the effort, including Phil Cook (keys, harmonica), Michael Libramento (bass, organ, percussion), Tony Mason (drums), Daniel Littleton (guitar), Stuart Bogie (saxophone), Jordan McLean (trumpet), and her son Lee Collins (congas).
Born into music as the daughter of The Band’s drummer/singer Levon Helm and singer-songwriter Libby Titus, Amy was raised between Woodstock, New York, New York City, and Los Angeles. She is a founding member of folk group Ollabelle and a longtime member of The Midnight Ramble Band. What the Flood Leaves Behind is her third solo album.
